Belts
When visiting Hershberger’s Hardware (OH
distributor) clients, one customer, Stoney Acres, sampled two belts
and within a week ordered (5) of each grit they were using.
This was due to identifying pain with the customer and
operator. They mfg. hardwood flooring and were getting
very bad “railroad” marks in their final finish.
They were using a cheap converter brand cloth aluminum oxide on all
heads. Josh H immediately identified the problem and said the
cure to their pain was to go to paper belts. He has seen this
problem before when cloth belts are used, especially in the
finishing grits. In addition to identifying this problem, he also
went through the machine, leveled the heads and had it running
better than it was prior to our visit. Once the customer ran
the paper belt samples and saw that Josh was correct, they
immediately ordered paper belts.
